Last Day!

Image
This was our last day in Barcelona! We started rhe day off by going to la Sagrada de Familia. The stained glass showing the seasons was a highlight for our group. After the church we took a walking/bus tour of the city. We went up to the park Güell where Gaudi the architect of the church lived at the time. During the free time since the weather was nice all day we went to the beach and swam! The last thing of the day was dinner. We really enjoyed the tapas for dinner with gelato for dessert! Great last day in Spain!! Written by: Gianna, Morgan, Keira and Emma We are on our way home, see you tomorrow.

Today was our 10th day on the trip! We departed from Valencia this morning at 8:00am and drove to Barcelona, where we had a full day set out for us.  When we arrived we went to a traditional market filled with every sort of food and sweet imaginable. We spent 30 minutes there and then left for our biking tour! Our biking tour was 2 hours long and we biked along the coast of Barcelona, saw statues of Christopher Columbus and famous architecture. After biking we split into our groups and had free time for dinner and shopping.  At 7:00 we returned to the bus and made it to our hotel for the evening where we will be staying for two nights!  Sincerely,  Barcelona Travelers- Maggie, Holly, Benson and Trevor

Day #8

Today was the 22 of March and we toured the Alhambra and saw types of architecture that spanned through centuries!  We also then participated in a “City Challenge” scavenger hunt; we looked for monuments and important features and then had to take a picture for proof.  It was super fun, but we were late making it to the final meeting spot so our group didn’t win.  After that, we had some free time so we shopped a bit and got some food! After our free time, we went to the Restaurante Paco Martin which was delicious!  We took a quick break at the hotel and then we went to see some Flamenco dancing, which was a first for all of us.  We all agreed that it was an extremely enjoyable experience and it was so expressive in the movement!  We made it back to the hotel and that was the day! Day#5

Crazy wind as we ventured to the place that was known as the end of the world-Ponta de Sagres. This was guarded by Fortaleze de Sagres, the establisjment and the birthplace of the 15th century efforts to explore the globe led by Henry the Navigator. Traveled east along the coastline to Lagos, a port that was center of attention for slave trade back in the 1500’s. Had a wonderful lunch and views of a replica explorer ship. Shuffled around the town checking out the local shops. Headed back to the hotel for one last night in Portugal. Off to Spain in the morning!
