Day#6
Many of us woke up early this morning to get food without any difficulties, as there were multiple other groups of similar size staying at the hotel. We started our day with a serene walk through a bamboo forest. It was super calm and beautiful, making it the perfect place for great photos. After some time wandering around the town outside the bamboo forest, we hopped back on the bus and went to a mall for lunch. There, we picked up a tour guide named Yoko who taught us some Japanese language and culture, especially surrounding the shogun, which was a military led government. The Samurai had become rich and gained a lot of political power, causing the rise of the shogun as leaders in the Kyoto area. The shines were amazing and the garden was immaculate. We were able to see the inside of the shogun building, or at least a recreation of it, which we actually had to take our shoes off for, but it was interesting to read all about the shogun. Our final event was a massive mall that went on forever. There were so many shops that anybody could get lost, but that’s where the fun comes in. With so much to do and see, we could have spent multiple days exploring and shopping. Finally, we ended the day with a better style dinner. There was a chocolate fountain, which was pretty solid, but definitely there more for the novelty than the taste. Long day, and the trip’s almost over, so we have to make the most out of the time that’s left.
