Day #4

After breakfast we made our way down a scenic winding road to a travel stop that had some very friendly workers.

Starting our next leg of the journey off with a free concert

Then we made our way to the monasteries which are at 1300 feet. These are the last 6 remaining out of the 24 that were originally in the Meteora region. Four of the monasteries are made for monks and the other 2 for nuns. There were paintings depicting the history of the Greek Orthodox Religion, these were started 30 years ago by Theophanis Strelitzas (pictures weren’t allowed, inside but we got some outside).

After that we had lunch at a Greek tavern where everyone enjoyed a nice meal and the playground

Then we went into the town of Trikala where we had the option of a guided tour or free time. Many students went to the shopping district and enjoyed a drink at a café, while the others explored the many extraordinary places that resided in Trikala.

We finished our day by checking into our over night hotel, had dinner, and a couple fun bug encounters.
