Day #3

We began the day scrambling into the bus after breakfast. After being driven around for a while, we visited a statue of important figures in Portuguese history, lining up on a steep triangle with the man seated at the top staring out to sea, and we took a picture copying that idea:

We then visited an incredible summer home for the old royal family. It was built before Columbus discovered the Bahamas! It was a long tour, but definitely worth it to see such a beautiful building with architectural ideas long lost to capitalism…

We ate a good lunch afterwards!

Have you noticed how affordable food in Portugal is? It's great!

A favourite part of this trip is being able to walk around the streets freely sometimes. It's interesting to see how people behave and go about their day to day lives.

Just remembering the palace…

It also rained a lot today. Thank God it wasn't cold.

We love the colourful buildings here in Portugal!!!
