Day#5

Crazy wind as we ventured to the place that was known as the end of the world-Ponta de Sagres. This was guarded by Fortaleze de Sagres, the establisjment and the birthplace of the 15th century efforts to explore the globe led by Henry the Navigator. Traveled east along the coastline to Lagos, a port that was center of attention for slave trade back in the 1500’s. Had a wonderful lunch and views of a replica explorer ship. Shuffled around the town checking out the local shops. Headed back to the hotel for one last night in Portugal. Off to Spain in the morning!

  1. As Orophile travelers , we’re always chasing that sense of awe only the mountains provide, and your blog captures it beautifully. The photos and descriptions make me feel like I’m already there! Thanks for providing such thoughtful recommendations — it’s a true guide for anyone passionate about mountain travel. Can’t wait to explore these spots myself soon.
