Day # 8

We began the day by driving up the Amalfi Coast toward Amalfi, a beautiful western coast facing town that is famous for its lemon and other citrus exports. The road there was insanely narrow, our bus scarcely squeezing around corners and other cars. In Amalfi, we hiked up the hillside toward the vast lemon farms where we had the Amalfi Lemon Experience. Owning almost 10% of the land in Amalfi, the family operated farms grow huge acres of lemon trees fed by the complex stone architecture and various pollination from bee hives (We had to be super quiet as not to scare them!).

There we tried lemonade and lemon cake made from the lemons which were super yummy! Many of the lemons were completely edible, rind and all, with a slightly less sour taste than traditional
